HOW IT WORKS

The Passback Playbook

Passback's reuse and upcycling solution creates a circular economy for sports gear and textiles. For sports clubs and retailers, we provide savings and ease to the laborious process of offloading their surplus gear. For youth and families in underserved communities-- we provide high-quality products for free. Finally, we have a re-commerce store where the items can be sold for a fraction of the retail price with all proceeds going back to further our mission.  All the while, this process prolongs the resource of plastic and maximizes the life cycle of each item.

Guided by a commitment to community impact and sustainability, the Passback team utilizes a network of interconnected digital tools to optimize our reverse logistics operations. We collect and analyze detailed sustainability metrics, including material weights and usage patterns. This critical data not only aids in enhancing our operational efficiency but also provides valuable insights to brands. By sharing these insights, we assist in refining product design and manufacturing processes, aligning with SDG #12 to foster responsible consumption and production.

WHY IT MATTERS

Explore the game-changing details.

The United Nations has reported that the global sports sector is responsible for emissions equivalent to those of a medium-sized country, and a top 3 contributor to this is the carbon footprint generated by the supply chains for sports-related gear. And looking at Nike and Adidas’s most recent ESG reports, you can see why. They won’t reach true climate neutrality until 2050, even as an industry leader in sustainability. Sports brands worldwide have similar expectations but lack a partner like Passback to make it happen.

Yet, amidst this delay in corporate action, the most affected are often the most vulnerable - kids in underserved communities. However, this realization presents an opportunity for empowerment and innovation to bridge this gap and create a sustainable future that positively impacts both the environment and the community.
